The names displayed in my OBD Car Doctor Free app are obscure and confusing. I suggest changing these names as follows:

  • Bank 1, Sensor 2V
    •    Change to Bank 1, Sensor 2 - O2 Sensor - Volts
  • Bank 1, Sensor 2%
    •    Change to Bank 1, Sensor 2 - O2 Sensor - Percent
  • Bank 2, Sensor 2V
    •    Change to Bank 2, Sensor 2 - O2 Sensor - Volts
  • Bank 2, Sensor 2%
    •    Change to Bank 2, Sensor 2 - O2 Sensor - Percent
  • O2S1_WR_Lambda Ratio
    •    Change to Bank 1, Sensor 1 - F/A Sensor - Lambda Ratio
  • O2S1_WR_Lambda I
    •    Change to Bank 1, Sensor 1 - F/A Sensor  - Current
  • O2S5_WR_Lambda Ratio
    •    Change to Bank 2, Sensor 1 - F/A Sensor  - Lambda Ratio
  • O2S5_WR_Lambda I
    •    Change to Bank 2, Sensor 1 - F/A Sensor  - Current

The above parameters are displayed by the app because my car has Fuel/Air ratio sensors upstream. Otherwise, I suppose the app would display Oxygen sensor parameters for Sensor 1 similar to the Sensor 2 parameters above.

Also, there was no data displayed by the app for the Sensor 2 Percent parameters.

Thank you for the feedback!

We will try to change names of sensors and parameters to more readable according to your recommendations. The only issue that names remains quite long and might be hardly readable at some screens... If any ideas of short-and-readable description, it would be fantastic!

Also, there was no data displayed by the app for the Sensor 2 Percent parameters.

The most possible reason is just absence of the parameter data in ECU response. According to OBD-II, both Volts and Percentage are packed as one parameter, so it's impossible to "hide" not supported parameter before reading the exact response stream.

Thanks!

What confused me most was the apparent lack of Bank 1 Sensor data in the parameter list. So I think the parameter name should clearly identify the Bank and Sensor. I also think the name should identify the type of sensor, ie. Oxygen or Fuel/Air ratio. I tried to do this in the names I suggested above. I understand you need compact names for the displays so here is my attempt at that:

  • B1S1 - O2 Volts
  • B1S1 - O2 %
  • B2S1 - O2 Volts
  • B2S1 - O2 %
  • B1S1 - F/A Lambda
  • B1S1 - F/A Current
  • B2S1 - F/A Lambda
  • B2S1 - F/A Current
  • B1S2 - O2 Volts
  • B1S2 - O2 %
  • B2S2 - O2 Volts
  • B2S2 - O2 %

Note that the Sensor 1 name depends on the type of upstream sensor.
